And though it will take me quite some time to complete this trip page, here is a tease of INCREDIBLE places we were able to see on this never ending journey.
Living the majority of my life in the US, a trip like this would have been impossible.
But that’s one of the many beautiful benefits of living in a country like Canada… They have a very generous paid parental leave.
There are so many other factors involved in undertaking an expedition with an infant for as long as we did.
I can’t wait to share… stay tuned subscribe for updates!
Our 3.5-month European adventure with our infant daughter was a whirlwind of unforgettable experiences, cultural immersion, and cherished family moments. We began our journey in vibrant Barcelona, where we reconnected with friends and savored the city’s unique blend of Gothic and modernist architecture. The warm Mediterranean climate and laid-back atmosphere provided the perfect start to our trip, allowing us to ease into the rhythm of European travel with a newborn.
From Spain, we embarked on an epic road trip across France, winding our way through picturesque landscapes and charming towns. We attended a beautiful wedding and explored the diverse regions of France, from the sun-soaked streets of Montpellier and Marseilles to the gastronomic capital of Lyon. Our journey took us to the historic Le Mans, the bustling metropolis of Paris, the dramatic cliffs of Étretat, the walled city of Saint-Malo, and the awe-inspiring Mont Saint-Michel. Each stop offered unique experiences, from indulging in exquisite French cuisine to marveling at centuries-old architecture.
Our adventure continued as we flew to Poland, where we spent quality time with family in Warsaw and Łódź. The contrast between Western and Eastern Europe was fascinating, and we enjoyed immersing ourselves in Polish culture and traditions.
From there, we road-tripped to Vienna, making a detour to explore the breathtaking Tatra Mountains in Zakopane. A quick flight whisked us away to Greece, where we wandered through the ancient ruins of Athens and basked in the stunning sunsets of Santorini.
Returning to Central Europe, we drove back to Poland, taking in the scenic beauty of Slovakia along the way. Our next destination was Italy, where we marveled at the fashion capital of Milan, hiked through the pristine landscapes of Aosta Valley, and got lost in the romantic canals of Venice. The colorful villages of Cinque Terre provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation and coastal exploration.
As our journey neared its end, we took a train from Milan to Zurich, enjoying the breathtaking Alpine scenery en route. We spent time with a friend in Switzerland before making our final stop in Germany to visit family.
Throughout our travels, our little one proved to be an adaptable and enthusiastic traveler, charming locals and fellow tourists alike. This incredible journey not only broadened our horizons but also strengthened our bond as a family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
